QuadriSpace announces Share3D On-Premise for Online 3D Documentation

New technical documentation server, based on HTML5, supports viewing and access of online 3D documents in modern browsers. No plugins required.

Allen, Texas – April 19, 2016 – Today, QuadriSpace™ announced the immediate availability of Share3D™ On-Premise Server. Share3D On-Premise is a local server solution for delivering HTML5-based online 3D documentation created with QuadriSpace authoring software. Share3D On-Premise () is an easy-to-implement solution for work instructions and spare part catalogs, making critical product information available generally or accessible through service, dealer or customer portals.

Share3D On-Premise delivers technical documents that are Powered by Share3D™. These interactive 3D documents are shared using industry standard HTML5 which provides a cross-platform, zero-footprint solution viewable in any modern browser, on most devices and with no client-side install. Viewers can view and interact with technical documentation using Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome or Opera on PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices. Unlike most competitive web solutions, no browser plugins are required. When compared to 3D PDF, Powered by Share3D™ documents often realize benefits from smaller files, improved 3D performance, 3D viewing on Android and iOS devices, and consistent browser viewing.

When Share3D On-Premise is combined with QuadriSpace authoring software such as Pages3D and Publisher3D, companies can use an integrated set of solutions allowing them to readily use existing 3D CAD models for the creation of documentation and then seamlessly deliver those to others using the locally installed server. With a local server, customers are in direct control of security, access, performance, appearance, organization and content of their technical documentation system.

In order to simplify delivery of technical documentation, Share3D On-Premise includes features making it easy to customize, organize and maintain online documentation portals. Documentation portals can be setup to provide local intranet access for superior internal security, or can be made available on the internet to provide access via user portals or without any authentication requirements. Share3D On-Premise server provides simple tools for managing file hierarchy, versions and user access. By using hierarchical organization and links between documents, customers can easily create reusable instructions and drill-down spare part catalogs suitable for simple or complex product documentation requirements.

When it comes to authoring technical documents using 3D data, QuadriSpace authoring products are unmatched. Pages3D provides a patented approach allowing authors to use a single software solution that combines pages layout tools with 3D tools. Publisher3D publishes illustrations and single page documents using templates. Both authoring applications include all the 3D tools needed to incorporate 3D with product documentation; for example, create clickable parts lists, step-by-step processes, interactive animations, illustrated parts list and product mock-ups.

Finally, the combination of QuadriSpace products provides flexible possibilities for customization. QuadriSpace authoring software encourages the creation of fully customized documents; either through customizable templates with Publisher3D or complete, custom multi-page documents with Pages3D. In addition, the look and feel of the web experience can be customized with Share3D On-Premise using standard CSS and HTML modifications.
